Dr. Carmellini has practiced physical therapy exclusively in private practice orthopedics clinics since his entry-level degree from Andrews University. He completed his Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Manual Therapy Certificate from the University of St. Augustine. He is Board-Certified in Orthopedics from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopedics Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Carmellini has also presented at the American College of Sports Medicine National Conference.
Dr. Carmellini is a vocal advocate of science-based physical therapy, strong informed consent, detailed patient education, and elegant treatment plans. Elegant treatment plans are efficient and require the least amount of steps to making you feel better. What does this mean for the client? It simply means better physical therapy visits, less co-pays, easy to follow home programs, and excellent patient outcomes.
In addition, Dr. Carmellini is an avid endurance athlete. He previously taught mountain biking at Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl in Upstate New York. He is a Category 3 cyclist for Rocky Mountain Road Club and specializes in criteriums and hard one-day road races. In addition, he has backpacked much of the Appalachian in New England and has completed multi-day trips in Alaska, Colorado, Tennessee, North Carolina, Canada, and the Pacific Northwest.
